White backdrop

We decided to have a white background in our music video as it creates a performance side to the video and can show the artist. Many music videos include these shots to focus completely on the artist. My cousin is a photographer and she has a white backdrop we could use, so I asked for her permission to use it for our music video.

Costumes (initial ideas)

Costumes for Music Video

Costumes for Music Video by jessandamy featuring a red full skirt

These are the first outfits that will be featured in our Music Video, we chose these outfits because the colour scheme all fits together and makes the characters look like a girl group. These outfits also fit with the genre of our music video and look like something that the artist would wear. We only have three characters in our music video however i thought it was a better idea to create costume ideas with four characters to prepare ourselves in case one of the costumes has a malfunction or incase it doesnt fit one of the characters.

Two outfits for music video

These are two more costumes that we are hoping for out actors to wear in our Music Video. These two particular outfits are planned to be wore for one of our locations in London. We chose these certain outfits because they are both particularly dark costumes which contrasts to the graffiti background and the brightness of being in London. Therefore meaning these outfits will stand out and look better for the viewer of the music video.

These two outfits compliment each other perfectly, both these ourfits look sexy which conveys voeyrism to our music video which is great because that fits with the codes and conventions of our genre. These costumes look very good alongside each other especially when they are used in the location that we are planning to use them for they will stand out immensly.

Script for Actors

We decided to create a script of the lyrics and chose which of our actors will be lip syncing what lines. This enables us to make sure that the actors are all organised for filming which prevents us to have to refilm anything as we could run out of time that way. We have emailed all our actors a copy of this script so they are aware of what they are doing. Also on this script we have given ourselves an idea of the types of shots we want to use for each line with the possible location, this has helped us to be more clear and well planned for what we are going to be filming and when.

Storyboard

Here is an online storyboard I created for a general idea for our music video. We want to include both performance and the artist singing along and lip synching. We plan to have our opening shot with a graffiti wall. This will immediately show the audience the genre and style of the music video and show that it has rebellious influences. We will edit the shot and have the title as credits ontop of the image. 'TROUBLE' will also show the audience what the video is about and what it will include.
We want to add loads of different locations as the song is fast tempo and all the locations will keep the audience engaged and they will not get bored. We believe this would work effectively as a lot of modern music videosalso do this and we have taken this as an inspiration.
