Codes and Conventions of a Music Video
I decided to create a prezi on the codes and conventions of a music video to make us become more aware of what creating a good music video involves and needs. From making this prezi and doing the research to know what to write i have learnt that all the good music videos focus on the artist and use a variety of camera shots and angles to make the music video unique. In our Music video we will make sure we are following these guidlines and ideas of what to use in our video to make sure it is the best that it could be.

Developed Ideas
Here i created a Wordle on all ideas that we had thought of from what shots to use to places where we are thinking of filming and the genre that we are thinking of making our Music Video to. Using wordle helped me to make sure i have thought about all the main things to include in our music video and what is important.

Initial Ideas
Here we have created a mind map on some of the initial idea we have come up with to include in our video. We have included possible song choices, locations, props, cinematography and locations. The importance of creating a mind map is to have a general idea and theme of what we will include within our music video. Our ideas will then become more developed and we will have a clear idea of what we will do with our music video and song choice.

Analysing a music video (The Saturdays- Gentlemen)
We decided to analyse this music video as we have chosen a song that is a girl group, so we looked at this video as the Saturdays are a girl group and we were able to watch and analyse to see what they do in thier video compared to what we are planning to put in our music video. This gave us some inspiration on costumes and types of Camera shots to use.

Britney Spears-Toxic analysis
I analysed Britney Spears-Toxic for the same reasons I did for Rihanna's video. Britney is 21 in this video and has always been seen as a young girl, through her appearances in Disney. She used this video to show the audience she has grown up by experimenting with adult life such as men, drugs and sex. This has created a new representation of her and her star image.

Rihanna- Umbrella analysis
As we have now decided to create a music video, I have analysed the music video for Umbrella by Rihanna. This was thew stepping stone into Rihannas career and is a large comparison to her previous work. Rihanna at this point was growing into a woman, therefore her video includes yoyeurism and she is representated as more sexualised. Her more modern work has come even further than this as she becomes more famous and building up her star image. I decided to analyse this video as it shows her first experimenting with her sexuality and her future representation and image.

Decision to do a music video
We have decided to do a music video for our A2 coursework as it is something we think would be the most interesting to do and we would get more enjoyment out of it. We also believe that there are more conventions and inspirations we could use in order to create our music video and include these within our evaluations. By being able to appreciate music videos more than short films, we would put more effort into creating a music therefore our work will look more professional.

Short film definition
Although we are not creating a short film as our project, weave given a definition of what it is and explained why they are used. We decided against this project as we thought that creating a music video would appeal much more to us and we could include influences and inspirations from our own knowledge as we now more about music videos.

Analysis of our AS Media Blog
We decided to analyse our old blog so we could look back and see what we believe we did well, and what we thought we didn't do as well with. With this information, we can develop our skills to work better and harder on our current blog and project.
